Women Who Stand Beside Us

Women Who Stand Beside Us is an ongoing conceptual series of paintings, sculptures, and future public art works currently in development.

Artist Statement

I am an artist and designer whose work explores protection, resilience, belonging, and empowerment through sculpture, public art, and spatial design. My practice is inspired by the relationships that help us navigate vulnerability and strength, particularly the women, mentors, mothers, sisters, and friends who offer guidance, wisdom, support, and care throughout our lives.

Building on my experience in painting public art, I am currently developing a sculptural language rooted in abstract forms that embody both strength and tenderness. Circles, shields, and organic geometries appear throughout my work as symbols of protection, connection, and transformation. I am interested in how art can occupy space not only as an object, but as a presence that fosters dignity, contemplation, and belonging.

My current body of work in development, Women Who Stand Beside Us, honors the often-unseen contributions of women who help others endure, grow, and thrive. Through a series of paintings, sculptural studies, and future public art proposals, I explore themes of resilience, boundaries, collective care, and empowerment. The long-term vision for the series is to create works that range from intimate studio pieces to monumental public sculptures that celebrate the women who help us feel seen, supported, and protected.

As both an artist and designer, I am drawn to the intersection of form, meaning, and human experience. My goal is to create work that contributes beauty, strength, and care to the communities it serves while honoring the relationships that connect us to one another.

Women Who Stand Beside Us

Women Who Stand Beside Us is a conceptual series of paintings, sculptures, and future public art works currently in development. The series honors the women who guide, support, protect, and uplift us throughout our lives. Inspired by mothers, mentors, sisters, friends, and community leaders, the work explores themes of resilience, belonging, empowerment, and collective care.

Through abstract forms and symbolic structures, each piece serves as a tribute to the often-unseen presence of women whose strength, wisdom, and compassion help shape our lives. Rather than portraying specific individuals, the series celebrates the universal role women play as advocates, protectors, teachers, and sources of connection.

Currently in its concept phase, Women Who Stand Beside Us is evolving through sketches, paintings, sculptural studies, and public art proposals. The long-term vision is to create a body of work that spans intimate studio pieces and monumental public sculptures, offering spaces for reflection, recognition, and gratitude.

At its core, the series is about honoring the relationships that help us endure, grow, and thrive, while celebrating the women who help us feel seen, supported, and empowered.
